Welcome to Home Grown. We are an elite training academy designed to create technically gifted players who aspire to reach their full potential and chase their dreams, an environment that creates technical excellence through the detail covered within our sessions, culture created, and the standards set.

Inspired by the Brazilian game of futebol de salão at Home Grown we aim to develop our players technical ability with the ball and their relationship with the ball through our unique skills set and training sessions that have come from the streets of Brazil. Futebol de salão is played on a smaller pitch which results in a fast end to end style of play with players getting more touches of the ball and having more opportunities to try things within a game situation.

Our philosophy is simple, we teach our players to play with freedom, to be creative and confident, to be expressive and above all to have fun with the ball and want to beat players and dominate the game, to play the game the way it is meant to be played, with a smile on their face, and that is why our logo epitomises our style of play with the colours representing that of the Brazilian flag in the shape of a smile, and our players carry that smile on their shirts every time they play.

Pathway: We also have established links with Leeds United, Blackburn Rovers and Bradford City academies and this link allows us to put our players forward for trials at their respected academies giving our players the platform and opportunity to chase their dreams.

Technical Control Patterns:

Futebol de salão. The heart of all of our sessions. To dominate the ball and to dominate the game, technique is everything. At Home Grown our technical control patterns equip our players with an explosive, refined, and versatile skillset. This is accomplished through our creative skill combinations, foot patterns and ball control sets before applying them within a 1 vs 1 situation.

1 vs 1’s:

When it matters most. Our players will have the opportunity to apply what they have learnt in a variety of different game related 1 vs 1 scenarios. This is where they will develop an understanding of when and where to use their technical skillset effectively to take on an opponent or to get away from pressure effectively. The variety of different game situations we create for our players tests them to be creative and unpredictable under pressure giving them the skills to beat players on the pitch and dominate the game.

Game Related Situations:

Our game related practices give our players the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice and gives them the tools to beat the opposition, whilst enhancing their ability to perform under pressure. Through a combination of possession drills, tactical games, attacking and defensive situations, players will be tested within every aspect of the game.

Small Sided Games:

From the streets of Brazil to the pitch. Futebol de salão truly enhances technical development with it’s unique, small sided, intense end to end nature. Players get more touches of the ball and a real feel for quick transitions within the game.

Attackers can focus on their individual ability to beat players and create chances to score for themselves and others, whilst defenders are tested on their ability to win the ball and keep possession.
